PROCESS FOR SUBMISSION - ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS: 1. Authors should submit a postscript file of their final manuscript, including figures, by ftp to the following site: ftp.research.microsoft.com login as anonymous cd incoming/datamine put file.ps We can only accept POSTSCRIPT files, and it is the author's responsibility to make sure that the submitted file will print to standard platforms. All figures need to be included in the postscript file 4. Each paper must have a title page giving the preferred address of the contact author for correspondence and return of proofs. Please include a telephone number, fax number and email address, if available. 5. Once you submit your postscript file, you need to send an an electronic mail message to datamine@microsoft.com and cc to kcullen@wkap.com, including the title, the names of the authors, and an abstract. PLEASE use the electronic submissions template available via ftp from: ftp://ftp.research.microsoft.com/pub/datamine/submit/jdmkd-sub-template.txt or e-mail a request to kcullen@wkap.com. Due to Kluwer requirements, you must also send in hardcopies of your paper to the Kluwer office (see instructions on hardcopy submissions). If Kluwer does not receive a hardcopy of your paper, IT WILL NOT BE entered into the system and hence will not have been considered as an official submission. 7. The refereeing is done by anonymous reviewers. 8. Upon acceptance for publication, authors will be given the opportunity to provide, when appropriate, an electronic appendix to the paper containing data sets, experimental materials, etc., which will be made available on the Internet using a Kluwer-owned server. Detailed instructions for submitting the electronic appendix will be made available to authors of accepted papers.
