ResearchMost recently I have been working on power and performance in data centers, particularly data center storage. Previously I worked on Seaweed, a scalable distributed query infrastructure for large networks, and before that on database performance prediction, end-to-end tracing, and adaptation in mobile systems.Recent publicationsEverest: Scaling down peak loads through I/O off-loading (will be presented at OSDI 2008)Delay aware querying with Seaweed (The VLDB Journal Special Issue: Best of VLDB 2006) (author's copy, conference version) All publications Erdös path ProjectsEverest: I/O off-loading (MS internal only)DiskEnergy: saving energy in data center storage Seaweed: scalable distributed querying Resource Advisor: database performance prediction and visualization |
